How To Measure
HOW TO MEASURE width FOR OUTER LIPS AND INNER BARRELS for 3-piece wheels:
A common mistake when measuring outer lip / inner barrel size is that many people would measure from edge to edge as opposed to bead to bead. This is the incorrect way to measure. The correct way to measure is from tire bead area to tire bead area with no tire mounted. This is the width of the wheel (lip and barrel combined).
To measure the width correctly, please make sure you are measuring from the start of the bead area to the other side of the tire bead area. For example, the example wheel in the photo below shows a 9" width wheel.
To measure the outer lip width, you will measure from the bead area of the lip to where the silicone seal is. Our example wheel in the photo below has a 2.5" width outer lip.
To measure the inner barrel width, you will measure from the bead area of the inner barrel to where the silicone seal is. Our example wheel in the photo below has a 6.5" width inner barrel.
This example wheel then is 9" (2.5" lip / 6.5" barrel).
COMMON MEASUREMENT MISTAKES
Common measurement mistakes are shown in the photos below. This is not an accurate way to measure.
You will not get a precise measurement if the tire is still on the wheel. So please be sure to have your local tire shop dismount your tires prior to measuring.
Certain wheels such as the Work Equip 05, Rezax, etc. is sandwich mount wheel (face sits inbetween the outer lip and inner barrel). Please remember to account for the 0.5" thickness in between the outer lip and inner barrel that is the face. Also, certain wheels such as SSR come in 1⁄4 increments for their factory parts, so your outer lip and inner barrel would come out to be something such as 2.75" as opposed to 3.0" or 2.5". Please make sure to measure accurately!
We are not responsible if you measure the size incorrectly. Feel free to contact us with photos of your measurements and we can confirm the sizes before you purchase.
